McCullough challenges opponents to debate

Daily Journal - McCullough: Voters deserve debates with full participation - Glenn McCullough Jr. of Tupelo, a Republican candidate for the 1st District U.S. House seat, challenged his party opponents to join him in debates Friday. "The voters deserve the chance to compare us side by side," he said, "and it's time for the three Republican candidates to come together to give them the choice."

His challenge came during a news conference on the steps of the Olive Branch City Hall. McCullough and Dr. Randy Russell, two of the three candidates for the seat, have accepted an invitation from the Monroe County Republican Committee for a debate in Aberdeen. McCullough says there should be similar debates in Oxford and in the DeSoto County area. Southaven Mayor Greg Davis is the third Republican candidate.

The Aberdeen debate is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Elks Building downtown. The Stennis Institute of Government at Mississippi State University will assist the Monroe County Republican Committee.
